As part of various initiatives aimed at strengthening the link between the academic world and the business community, a series of conferences was recently held at the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at the University of Salamanca, as well as the Industrial Symbiosis Conference in Arévalo (Ávila).
These events brought together students, professionals and scientific and technological organisations, with the aim of raising awareness of career opportunities in the field of science and technology, as well as the role of innovation and collaboration in developing sustainable solutions.

In this context, FCC’s participation enabled to give attendees an insight into its work on R&D&I projects, with particular emphasis on the ZeroLandFilling project, an initiative aimed at demonstrating the viability of a pilot plant based on the pyrolysis of non-recyclable municipal solid waste. This process enables waste to be transformed into high-value resources, such as green naphtha for the chemical industry, solid carbon for construction and synthesis gas for energy self-consumption, helping to reduce landfill and move towards a circular economy model.

The high turnout at both events reflects the growing interest in sustainability and consolidates these forums as key platforms for linking education, innovation and professional development.
